Mark will be taking three employees to Tuscany to battle it out for the prestigious position of 'Head of Simply Contemporary'. The three hopefuls are Vicki Saunders, John Broom and Tracy Turczak. Vicki, 19, left Poynton High School with4 top grade A-levels. Having passed up the opportunity to attend University and both Oxford and Cambridge she decided a career with TV Presenter Mark Simpkin had opportunities and adventure written all over it! Mark commented, “ for a 19 year old, I have never met such a competent young lady with so many admirable qualities and turning down University to pursue a career with my company was a calculated decision and proves her strength of character. I am always on the look out for dynamic individuals to join the team. I only wish there were more people like Vicki out there! Mark, a local entrepreneur who owns the Simply Group which supplies a huge range of changing area, restaurant/cafe furniture and smoking/cycling shelters, has been signed up by Living TV for a string of new programmes , the first being called “Break with the Boss”. The show sees Mark taking three members of his team to Italy on a 5-day interview. At the end of the trip Mark will promote one of his team to head up his new “Simply Contemporary” Division. Find out in Break with the Boss… OCT 2006 CYSTIC FIBROSIS - CHARITY ABSEIL PRESS RELEASE Five local girls are all set to suspend themselves 120 feet above the North Stand of MUFC all in aid of charity. The girls are taking part in a 120 foot abseil being organised by the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a trust set up to fund research into the treatment and possible cure of Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis is the UK 's most common life threatening inherited disease affecting over 7500 children and young people. Every week five babies are born with CF and sadly each week 3 young lives are lost. There is presently no cure for the disease and organised events like these are vital in raising the much needed funds required by the trust to continue its excellent work. Three of the girls, Vicki Saunders, Nikki Ashmore and Kim Ridings all currently work for Mark Simpkin at his successful furniture business, Simply Tables and Chairs in Adlington. Vicki 's twin sister Rachel and younger sister, Bethany are also taking part, both of whom have worked for Mark over their summer break from University and school. All the girls are currently making a conscious attempt to raise a minimum of £100.00 each which they have pledged to raise through sponsorship and any support would be welcomed. Diane Ashmore, known to the girls as Aunty Di, also works for Mark and is organising the event for the girls. “I will be there to calm the nerves before the event and if I use my persuasion skills I may even get Mark to dangle over the edge for a photo!!” The event is due to take part on the 29 th October and we will report on the girl's success in our December issue.
